Article 71
 

(1) The ballot papers, either used or unused, the null ones, the statements of poll and the necessary stamps for the voting process, the other materials used in the electoral process received by the courts of law from the county electoral bureaux, the Bucharest Municipality district electoral bureaux, the electoral bureau for the polling stations abroad, or from the electoral bureaux of the polling stations, as well as the lists of supporters received by the High Court of Cassation and Justice from the Central Electoral Bureau shall be kept in the archive, separately from the other documents of the courts, for 3 months as from the date of publishing the election results in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I.


(2) After the expiry of the time limit provided for in paragraph (1), the courts of law, supported by the prefects, shall hand over to the specialised economic operators for destruction, based on a minute, the ballot papers, either used or unused, the null ones, the statements of poll and the necessary stamps for the voting process, the other materials used in the electoral process, as well as the lists of supporters.


(3) The lists of supporters for the elections to the European Parliament of 25 November 2007 shall be submitted by the Permanent Electoral Authority for destruction to the specialised economic operators.
