The deadline of 90 days for the collection of signatures seems adequate. However, the obligation for the Assembly to decide on the proposal no later than within six months from the day of initiating the people’s initiative (Article 65.1), appears too short. While the Assembly should not delay the examination of the draft, the deadline could be extended by a few months at least. Moreover, an appeal against the inaction of the Assembly should be introduced.
