Paragraph 246

Where provision is made for referendums to be called at the initiative of part of the electorate (a popular initiative or an ordinary optional referendum), the time-limit for collecting signatures varies, as is the case at national level: thirty days in Armenia, one month in Hungary, forty-five days in Russia, sixty days in Poland, three months in Italy. In Austria and Switzerland, the time-limit depends on the federated entities' law. In the Netherlands, the temporary law established a time-limit of three weeks for the initial motion and six weeks for the final one, as at national level.
