Even if constitutional provisions expressly prohibiting imperative mandate focus on parliamentarians at national level,8 in a state based on representative and deliberative democracy, the same principles should apply to all representatives, at regional and local level as well as at national level. Revocation and recall of elected representatives therefore appear at odds with the representation principle.
