Article 18
 

The list of candidates shall be filed with the Central Election Commission no later than the thirtieth day before the day of voting.


If the list of candidates a candidate who is not a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia, is a national of another Member State of the European Union, must be leaves accompanied by a declaration by the candidate that, in the Member State of the European Union, whose citizen is not deprived of the right to stand for election the European Parliament, information about his citizenship, date and place of birth, last address of residence in a Member State of the European Union, of which he is a national candidate, and the address of his residence in the Republic of Slovenia or if the residence is not in the Republic of Slovenia, the address of his stay the Republic of Slovenia and the statement that no candidate in elections to the European Parliament in any other Member State of the European Union.


The National Electoral Commission shall inform the competent authorities of the other Member States of the European Union on what their citizens as candidates in European Parliament elections in the Republic of Slovenia, and requested that the deadline to be determined, to provide information whether they have the right to stand as a candidate at European Parliament elections deprived.


If the National Electoral Commission the information referred to in the preceding paragraph is not received later than the confirmation list of candidates shall take into account the candidate's statement that, in the Member State of the European Union, whose citizen is not deprived of the right to stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament.


If the National Election Commission on the basis of the information referred to in the third paragraph of this article establishes that the candidate was denied the right to stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament, the nomination is rejected.


The National Assembly does not approve the election of the deputy, if the National Electoral Commission informs that after the decision approving the list of candidates on the basis of the information referred to in the third paragraph of this article found that the applicant denied the right to stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament.


The mandate of the deputy cease if the candidate is elected term of office had already started to exercise, but on the basis of the information referred to in the third paragraph of this article establishes that the candidate was denied the right to stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament. Prophet expires on the day the National Assembly finds that created the reason for the termination of the mandate.


The Ministry of the Interior (hereinafter: Ministry), the point of contact for the exchange of information and verification of the electoral rights of a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia, in another Member State of the European Union, where he resides, a candidate in elections to the European Parliament.


Ministry data from the previous paragraph shall verify the Voting Rights Register, which is kept under the law that governs the electoral roll, and forward them to another Member State of the European Union as soon as possible, but no later than five working days after receipt of the request.
