A number of allegations of gerrymandering were voiced during the expert visit to Chişinău. It was also alleged by several interlocutors that the outcome of the delimitation process represented a political compromise among the interested political parties rather than the result of a purely technical process. The Venice Commission and ODIHR are not in a position to verify or reject these allegations within the remit of this opinion.
