The list of candidates shall be submitted to the republic electoral commission no later than on the thirtieth day prior to the day of elections.

 If the list of candidates includes a candidate who is not a citizen of the republic of Slovenia, however is a citizen of a EU Member State, a declaration of the candidate must be enclosed to the list stating his/her citizenship and the address of his/her permanent residence in the Republic of Slovenia as well as the that he/she does not stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament in any other EU Member State.

 The republic electoral commission shall inform other EU Member States about their citizens standing as candidates in the elections to the European Parliament.
